Bluetooth Stereo Music and Headset Ski Helmet with Glove Control
TEXSYS implemented the integration of a Bluetooth 2.1 compatible communication headset and a hands-free operation for making/receiving phone calls into a helmet, giving the user the opportunity to enjoy outdoor sports without slowing down.
Upgrade such a communication helmet by simply connecting it to your MP3 player via Bluetooth and listen to your favourite songs wireless. The auto switch system stops the music when your phone is ringing: The perfect combination of fun and function while doing snow sports!
Also while horseback riding, skating, or mountain biking, this Bluetooth helmet will make your sports activity more comfortable. With the Bluetooth glove you can answer the phone and control your MP3 player without actually taking the glove off.
The Bluetooth connection does not require the helmet-glove set and the other device being in line of sight: the maximum distance between the devices is 10 meters. The set is compliant with Bluetooth Specification 2.1 + EDR. Its battery lasts 240 hours in stand-by mode and 10hours when talking on the phone or listening to music. This guarantees the user enough power supply for almost any activity.
In addition to these high tech features TEXSYS is using solar cells (developed in cooperation with Fraunhofer IZM and the TU-Berlin) that can be mounted on top of the helmet. This solar module is able to power the electronic helmet under all weather conditions. In order to face the challenge of developing solar cells with high efficiency (above 20 %) and a relatively large photovoltaic module, a certain packaging and encapsulation technology was developed. It is based on thin, high efficiency single crystal solar cells segmented into tiny solar chips which can be fitted into the 3D shape. This enables the user to do without a charger in most cases - hence he is moving around freely while actually doing something for the environment.
TEXSYS electronics were tested under harsh conditions. Product- and process reliability is the main task and topic for the safe high end product. Performed well in extended reliability tests.
